It’s Monday morning. You’re already tired, lethargic, and feeling down in the dumps. Does this sound familiar to you? All of us have a number of issues and stressors to deal with, and sometimes as we get older it seems like we just don’t have the energy to deal with it anymore.
Many of us respond to life’s exhaustion and overwhelming stress by taking nice vacations on the beach or staying in fancy hotels. But this is just a quick fix to a long term problem. As soon as we get back to work, we start to feel exhausted again. It’s a vicious cycle.
We need something to refresh us and start feeling positive again for the long term, and one of the best ways to do so is to establish new, positive and refreshing habits that will get our energy back.
Here are five of our best habits that will get your energy right back and boost your daily performance:
1. Take Cold Showers
For some, the thought of a cold shower is extremely scary. But if you can push through, you will find it amazingly refreshing and it will put you in a good mood and ready to tackle the day.
2. Drink Water
Most people don’t realize how dehydrated they are when they wake up. Remember, you’ve gone all night without drinking! By having a glass of water first thing in the morning you’ll ensure that you are adequately hydrated to kickstart your day.
3. Get Your Blood Pumping
Exercise. Doing 25-30 minutes of exercise in the morning gets the blood flowing and keeps you healthy. Studies also show that doing this produces endorphins, which keeps you feeling great throughout the day.
If you stretch in the morning every day, you will be boosting the oxygen to your tissues, improving your mobility and making you feel more youthful. Stretching will also reduce your risk of injuries, keeping you healthy.
5. Listen To Classical Music
Did you know that listening to classical music can improve your creativity? Not to mention put you in a good, productive mood to start the day. A simple 15 minutes of listening will suffice. Try it!
